Lawyers from various sectors discuss the importance of Intellectual Property in all aspects of business. This panel discussion benefits students interested in IP law, but also those with an interest in any sort of business law. Students learn how Copyrights, Trademarks, and Patents affect everyday entrepreneurs.

Anna McCoy: Anna McCoy is an intellectual property attorney at Alleman Hall McCoy Russell & Tuttle LLP a boutique IP law firm located in Portland, OR. A graduate of the Lewis & Clark Law School, Anna's practice is primarily trademark and patent work, including patent and trademark prosecution, licensing and client advising on such issues. She is currently serving as chair of the IP section committee for the Oregon State Bar.

Julie Penry: Julie Penry is an intellectual property attorney with the Oregon Department of Justice located in Salem, OR. A graduate of Lewis & Clark Law School with a certificate in Intellectual Property, Julie's practice is primarily copyright, trademark and information technology work.

Britt Bachtel-Browning: Britt Bachtel-Browning enjoys the challenges of two different in-house environments. She works part-time as General Counsel for Portland Energy Conservation, Inc. where she provides advice to over 300 employees on a variety of contract and corporate matters. In addition, she consults as IP Counsel for Waggener Edstrom Worldwide, focusing on intellectual property issues including copyright, trademark and new technologies. She is a graduate of Catholic University in Washington, DC and while in law school she interned for the Copyright Office, Trademark Office and the Recording Industry Association of America.

LESA also sponsors events such as Law of Beer, Law of Wine, In-House Council forums, and Venture Capitalists panels, in addition to offering business cards and local wine.
