Portland Program
Semester in the City
The Portland Program builds academic and professional bridges in the Portland metropolitan area for law students in Eugene. It establishes closer ties with Portland’s legal and business communities and the 2,000 UO law graduates who have established their careers in Oregon’s largest city. Adjunct Instructor Kimberly Pray coordinates the program.
Portland Classes
The Portland Program offers a small menu of course offerings in the fall and spring semesters to complement Portland-area externship offerings. Classes are taught during weekday evenings in the Wayne Morse Suite, a dedicated classroom located in the Historic White Stag Block on the waterfront in Old Town. The classroom features state-of-the-art technology that enables the law school to video teleconference many of these courses to additional students in Eugene. In spring 2010, the course offerings will consist of Secured Land Transactions, Commercial Law Survey, Green Building and Construction Law, and Renewable Energy. In addition, the law school often offers a real estate planning course and other select business law courses in Portland during the summer session.
