Academics

The Portland Program offers a Portland Semester, focusing on the needs of students who have an interest in business law. The Portland Semester allowed students to enroll in business classes taught live in Portland while participating in business law externships with some of metropolitan Portland's most prominent corporations.

Students who do not participate in the Portland Semester have an opportunity to take live classes in Portland during the summer. Oregon Law recently offered a course in Real Estate Planning in Portland, and broadcast the course using videoteleconferencing technology back to additional students resident in Eugene.

In addition to its traditional course offerings, the Portland Program uses its office to facilitate Portland-area law conferences (including the annual Business Innovation Conference put on every autumn), student job placement, oversight of Portland externships, and the activities of Oregon Law's Appropriate Dispute Resolution Program.
