The Portland Semester focuses on the needs of students who have an interest in business law. The unique opportunity allows students to enroll in business classes taught in Portland while participating in business law externships with some of metropolitan Portland’s most prominent corporations.
Students who do not participate in the Portland Semester still have an opportunity to take classes taught in Portland. Oregon Law offers several courses in Portland and broadcasts each session live to a classroom in Eugene using the latest video teleconferencing equipment. In recent years, courses included:
- Renewable Energy
- Green Building and Construction Law
- Secured Land Transactions
- Commercial Law Survey
- Real Estate Transactions
In addition to its traditional course offerings, the Portland Program uses its office to facilitate Portland-area law conferences, including the annual Green Business Symposium, student job placement, externships, and the activities of the Appropriate Dispute Resolution Program.
